Historic districts combine heritage value with contemporary residential functions, and their morphological evolution is often characterized by multi-dimensional, multi-scalar, and long-term processes. Existing studies have developed systematic approaches to typo-morphological analysis and conservation strategies, but the interaction among multiple driving forces and their internal feedback mechanisms remains insufficiently explained. To address this gap, this study takes the B. Amedeo block in the historic center of Turin as a case study and adopts a framework of “morphological evolution – driving forces – dynamic mechanisms” to examine the evolution and mechanisms of residential historic districts. Based on urban morphology and typo-morphological analysis, the study divides the block’s evolution from the 17th century to the present into four stages: establishment, maintenance, transformation, and renewal.
