Abstract
The Atmospheric Boundary Layer (ABL) is characterized by turbulent processes spanning a wide range of temporal and spatial scales. Understanding the dynamics underlying these processes is crucial for improving weather prediction models and studying atmospheric transport phenomena. In this work, Lagrangian dispersion and turbulent convection are investigated using data collected by clusters of radiosondes developed within the HOUSEFLIES project. Data was acquired during two experimental campaigns. The first one was held in Sterzing, in the context of TEAMx Observational Campaign, where a cluster of 10 radiosondes was released. The second took place in Carmagnola, where a cluster of 20 radiosondes, the largest deployed so far, was released.
Experimental data was used to estimate turbulence characteristics through spectral analyses and the computation of Turbulent Kinetic Energy (TKE) dissipation rates
