Abstract
IEC 61508 is an international standard published by the International Electrotechnical Commission of rules applied in industry. However, IEC 61508 is not well suited to automotive development and is often subject to different interpretations. And it is not easy to align it with the traditional automotive engineering V approach. ISO 26262 is an international standard specific for the automotive industry. It applies to safety-related road vehicle electronic and electrical (E/E) systems, and addresses hazards due to malfunctions. Hazard analysis and risk assessment determine ASIL and safety goals. In reliability and safety field, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis(FMEA) is widely used method.
