Abstract
In this thesis, we design a two-story 3700 m2 pre-school building located in the Sverdlovsk region in Russia, and we develop a full energetic simulation model for this building. The model includes details on construction materials, selected according to current regulations for energy saving, occupation schedules, weather data for the region, lighting, equipment and other loads definitions, ventilation, HVAC operation, heating and cooling set-point schedules, etc. The energy model is developed in the OpenStudio/EnergyPlus software environment, and the results of the computer simulation over one year of operation are reported. Also, parametric analysis is performed to evaluate the impact of some design alternatives on the energy consumption.
