Abstract
The work focuses on the design and Multiphysics Analysis of a C-core Multi-Three-Phase surface permanent magnet motor. The Multi-phase structure represents a good alternative to meet the requirements of reduced dimensions, high efficiency, low vibrations and noise. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the electromagnetic performance of the C-core SPM using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Simulations are performed in COMSOL Multiphysics under both no-load and on-load conditions. In the no-load study, zero current is imposed in the stator windings; the induced voltage waveform and its harmonic content is obtained. For the on-load study, stator currents are imposed with phase shifts determined by the winding geometry.
Key outputs include current and voltage waveforms, torque, torque ripple and air-gap radial magnetic flux density
