Abstract
This thesis presents the design and implementation of a home automation system that uses the KNX protocol, which has been applied in a private residential villa. The main objective of this project is to come up with an automated building that will improve the comfort level, increase efficiency, and provide central control for different building operations. The project deals with the automation and integration of vital residential systems, which include lighting, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, audio systems, and security systems. A structured methodology has been followed for the project, which started with the analysis of the system's requirements followed by detailed designing, device selection, programming through ETS software, and finally testing and commissioning.
During all these phases, global standards and engineering practices were considered for the systems
