Abstract:

Within the framework of the Planetary Urbanization and the Extrastatecraft concept, the thesis will explore the spatial and architectural effects of the Belt and road initiative (BRI). The work starts from a conceptual point of view to offer a background of different theories covering a wide range of subjects. Then the spatial effects are analyzed using a comparative, architectural approach among three cases studies. Afterwards, some contemporaries social and envirnomental issues are raised, and as a consequence a new BRI urban scenario will be proposed.
