High-level controller design applied to vehicle active systems: from system modelling to validation on a static simulator.
Rel. Massimiliana Carello, Henrique De Carvalho Pinheiro. Politecnico di Torino, Master of science program in Automotive Engineering, 2021
Abstract
Modern road vehicles are equipped with many active systems, ranging from active safety to increase of performance. After a brief description of the systems chosen for this thesis, it will be described the design process of a new high-level controller. The aim is to design a new control architecture where each active system is interconnected with the others, improving the dynamic response of the vehicle and introducing a standard design procedure for the control of these systems. The main focus of the thesis is to increase the safety of the vehicle in critical conditions. A first part describes the preliminary virtual testing done to each system and then the high-level controller is designed and tested.
The software used to design and test the control algorithms is VI-CarRealTime in co-simulation with Matlab-Simulink
