Abstract
The aim of the project is to evaluate and graphically represent the experimental data from the engine map of a light-duty turbocharged Diesel engine and to evaluate the main characteristic parameters through the development of a Matlab script that models a Multiwiebe curve, based on the experimental heat release analysis, representative of the combustion process occurring in the engine, and uses it as an input for a pressure cycle reconstruction carried out referring to the Woschni heat exchange model. The pressure cycle reconstruction robustness is then tested and compared with the experimental acquired data, for a set of different engine cycles ranging from a speed of 1250 rpm to 3000 rpm and from 1 bar to 16 bar of load.
