Abstract:

IEC 61508 is an international standard published by the International Electrotechnical Commission of rules applied in industry. However, IEC 61508 is not well suited to automotive development and is often subject to different interpretations. And it is not easy to align it with the traditional automotive engineering V approach. ISO 26262 is an international standard specific for the automotive industry. It applies to safety-related road vehicle electronic and electrical (E/E) systems, and addresses hazards due to malfunctions. Hazard analysis and risk assessment determine ASIL and safety goals. In reliability and safety field, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis(FMEA) is widely used method. There are a few steps to perform the method. It means that it takes time when the testing engineers manually do it. Also they need to know the different failure modes of different components previously. Today there is one automate way to perform the failure mode analysis on the basis of the hardware schematic analysis. The second way is applied in Simulink environment. In order to verify it, we combine the automate method considering one electronics board used in space with an automotive case together. Through the case study, we classify different ASIL classifications. The details will be discussed in after chapters.
