Abstract:

The Master of Science thesis consists of the development of a CIC filter for an industrial application, provided by the company Silicon Mitus. In particular a CIC filter is developed with High-Level-Synthesis design methodology. The HLS tool takes as input a high level description of the architecture, described in C++ and synthesizes the architecture producing automatically the RTL description. The aim of the thesis to demostrate that it is possible to design architectures with performance comparable with the ones of the architectures designed with the traditional RTL design, with hand-written code.
