Abstract
Dispersed generation (especially the one obtained with renewable energy sources) may influence the electric power quality in several ways. To guarantee a correct working of the power distribution network an intelligent device is employed: the smart transformer. This device consists in a new technology which can improve the electric power quality, leading to various advantages.
