Abstract
PREFACE
First of all, we would like to thank the professor Michele Bonino of Politecnico Di Torino for providing us the resources and the platforms of Tsinghua University and also giving us the help when we in the course of fieldwork research in Beijing in May 2016.
With the rapid development of modern urbanization, more and more New Town has built. The types and the development directions of the New Town are different. But there are also some develop problems exist.
This thesis <Redesign of The Changping New Park> can be divided into three parts.
The first part: New Town Research. We have studied and introduced the characteristics analysis of the Chinese New Town, and also found some problems which lead to thinking.
The second part: New Town Planning. We have studied and analyzed the urban planning of the three New Towns in Beijing. “Tongzhou New Town, Yizhuang New Town and Changping New Town”. Later we could find deficiencies through summarized and analyzed the characteristics of each New Town.
The third part: Redesign. After the field research, we found that Changping did not finished a very good and completely urban planning. So, we choose Changping as our main focus of study, to redesign some parts of the
Changping New Town Park. Our design philosophy is to keep the agricultural advantages which has already exited in Changpin, and make Changping grow into a natural ecological New Town. Changping NewTown Park can become a good place for people to relax and leisure.
Today, the New Town development and planning has become a hot topic of the society, we hope that through our thesis study and redesign project, people could have a deeper understanding to Chinese New Town.
Finally, thanks again to our professor Michele Bonino to give us supports and help in this period.
