Abstract
The provisioning and management of complex, multi-component IoT platforms present significant operational challenges, particularly when solutions must be tailored to individual customer requirements. These challenges often lead to increased operational costs, slower deployment cycles, and ambiguous team responsibilities. This thesis addresses these issues through a case study of M2MGate, a commercial IoT platform. The objective is to modernize the platform’s infrastructure provisioning process by analyzing existing business workflows and identifying key areas for improvement. The proposed solution implements a fully automated, cloud-native architecture that leverages GitOps principles to manage the system’s lifecycle. This approach streamlines deployments, reduces manual intervention, and enforces a clear separation of concerns between development and operations teams.
