Abstract
The objective of this Master’s thesis is the development of an electric powertrain and driveline system for a modular platform intended for a show car. The project aims to define a flexible vehicle architecture adaptable to different segments, reducing development time and costs through subsystem standardization. An initial bench- marking analysis of major vehicle segments was conducted, considering dimensional parameters (length, width, wheelbase, frontal area) and key technical data such as axle rotating masses. These inputs has been foundamental for performance simulations on the WLTC cycle, defined according to demonstrative vehicle targets. From the simulation results, the required power and torque values were obtained for powertrain sizing.
Motor selection was structured in two phases: a benchmarking comparison between low-voltage and high-voltage technologies, followed by a verifi- cation of compatibility with the defined performance targets
