Abstract
In the context of the Colombian Southwestern Metropolitan Area (CSMA), this thesis focuses on the Cali–Jamundí corridor, where daily pendular mobility reveals major urban challenges: traffic congestion, insufficient transport infrastructure, and limited services that reinforce Jamundí’s role as a bedroom community. Aligned with the “Tren de Cercanías” local project—now advanced by Cali’s municipality—the research centers on three proposed stations in Jamundí, analyzing which urban functions and land uses could strengthen services and accessibility. The ultimate goal is to launch a call for design, establishing guidelines for architectural proposals around these new mobility nodes. Through this approach, the thesis seeks to reduce dependence on Cali and promote Jamundí’s consolidation as a more autonomous center within the metropolitan system.
