In recent times, there has been a noticeable surge in populism within the global political landscape. While the phenomenon of labor market polarization, often referred to as job polarization, a key driver in developed countries, has garnered considerable attention, it has remained relatively unexamined in emerging markets such as India. The aim of the thesis is to provide a preliminary examination of the coexistence of job polarization and populism in India. Using a combination of descriptive analysis, a comprehensive literature review, economic data analysis, and an assessment of political developments, this study reveals that job polarization and populism have occurred simultaneously in India in recent years.
