THE BIM APPROACH FOR TUNNEL LININGS.
Rel. Alessandro Pasquale Fantilli, Anna Osello. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Civile, 2023
Abstract
In conventional tunneling, the site geology and excavation behavior allow to define the most appropriate excavation method and techniques needed during the construction phases. Because of the uncertainties regarding site geology and soil, the project design demands a specific organization and tools. The rise of Building Information Modelling (BIM) represents a major opportunity for tunnel engineering and public organizations to manage projects and improve the efficiency of all services. Given the importance of the project, its strategic role, and its critical position, TELT sets forward the BIM process to ensure the efficiency of the design, and organization of information flows. This thesis focuses on the BIM application on construction sites 6 and 7 (CO6 and CO07) of the new Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin (TELT) project.
A database has been created for all the structures of the project (supporting structures of the tunnel portal, conventional tunnel primary support, pre-support, and final lining)
