Abstract
Over time, the meaning and value of Cultural Heritage has continuously changed, however it can be said that the Cultural Heritage defines the identity of a city as it “is an expression of the ways of living developed by a community and passed on from generation to generation, including customs, practices, places, objects, artistic expressions and values. Cultural Heritage is often expressed as either Intangible or Tangible Cultural Heritage” (ICOMOS, 2002). Traditions and practices of a culture define the places and elements that characterize a civilization. It is crucial to identify all the Cultural values of a city in order to preserve them: it is responsibility of the nowadays generation to protect the archeological sites and historical monuments and at the same time to pass on customs and traditions.
In this regard Bergama, which is a multi-layered city due to its continuous history since its first settlement that was attested to the II millennium BC, can be considered a city of inestimable value when it comes to Cultural Heritages
