Abstract
The aim of this thesis is the scouting and implementation of a metrology system in the design loop for the production of elements in Additive Manufacturing, and in particular with Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). An Optical scanner has been tested and study on the repeatability of measurements taken on part produced with SLS have been performed. Additive manufacturing is intended to be a fast technology to produce prototypes or small batches of elements, and it usually takes different iteration for the element to achieve the desired tolerances. Each iteration is composed by production, measurement and design adjustment. Implementing a new system such as a 3D scanner to perform measurement can give faster and more detailed information about the shape of the produced element.
