Abstract
The purpose of the study was to evaluate the feasibility of the production of some components of an electric scooter through additive manufacturing techniques. The study consisted mainly of a design phase for the components of an existing model of electric scooter. The design was focused on the subsequent production of these components through additive manufacturing techniques. The components underwent cycles of topological optimisation aimed at reducing the weight and keep or improve the original mechanical properties. For each component a polymeric and a metal design were made. The two designs were compared to the original component finding out how it is possible to reach significant reduction of mass if the production through additive manufacturing techniques is taken into consideration.
After the design phase, an evaluation on the feasibility of the production was made
