Abstract
Several osseous diseases cause loss of functions, it brings to use of bone implants to recover them. Bone implants, in turn, could be subjected to complications. The majority of them are bacterial infection, due to adhesion and proliferation of bacteria and high and uncontrolled inflammatory response. For the control of undesirable effects, it is used chitosan. It is a polysaccharide with antibacterial properties and it also has the capability to modulate body response, decreasing inflammatory response. Supposing an implant made of bioactive glass, they are used two different glasses as substrates with two diverse degrees of reactivity: they are called SCNA and SCNbis.
Three methods are analyzed to find out optimal process to make chitosan coating on bioactive glass
