Abstract
The present work focuses on the synthesis of a new sulfobetaine copolymer, designed for antibiofouling surfaces. The PySMAAm monomer is a sulfobetaine methacrylamide monomer with a pyridinium cation, with interesting antibiofouling properties but with difficult solubility and poor stability in aqueous media. By copolymerizing it, it is believed that its stability can increase. Several analysis are performed on the samples of the coating, such as H-NMR, FTIR, GPC, contact angle measurement and protein adsorption evaluation.
