Abstract
This thesis focuses on the flood hazard assessment of the hillside and foothill area of Turin. Placed right behind the Po River, this area is characterized by steep slopes that end in the highly urbanized context of the neighborhoods of Borgo Po and Madonna del Pilone. The presence of secondary watercourses with transitions to underground culverts shifts the hydraulic domain directly onto the street network, exposing the entire territory to extreme flood events. To address this issue, a two-dimensional hydrodinamic model of the catchment was created using Iber, a software developed by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the Universidade da Coruña.
The workflow started with a detailed hydrological analysis and catchment characterization
