The ancient city of Notion represents more than an archaeological site of scattered remains. Over two thousand years of abandonment it has evolved into a living archaeological landscape , characterized by the relationship between its ruins and vegetation. This thesis adopts an approach that treats the patina del tempo not as decay to be removed but as a constitutive part of the ruin’s identity and value. It argues that this ruin-nature symbiosis can be sustained through the framework of managed coexistence for the archaeological landscape , rather than evaluating the nature solely as a threat to be cleared from the ruins.
