Abstract
The increasing availability of 3D city models and UDTs has expanded the range of urban data for planning, governance, climate-oriented decision-making, and digital transformations. However, the development of such systems not only depends on a current visualization platform but also on the availability of the underlying geographical data. Many municipal datasets are official and spatially detailed but created for mapping, administrative management, or territorial reference. Their instant reuse for semantic 3D city modeling and UDT-oriented interoperability is therefore not automatic. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the potential of an existing dataset of municipal buildings for the transition from GIS-based representation to standard-oriented 3D city modeling and future UDT procedures.
The research is mostly focused on dataset preparation rather than constructing a whole UDT platform
