Abstract
The scope of the Diploma Thesis is to use an existing test rig to investigate heat transfer inside additively manufactured objects with varying geometries. Said geometries will be subjected to air flow at constant mass flow and joule-heated via a step-down transformer. By measuring pressures and temperatures before and after the test object as well as the voltage and current and the mass flow, both the Darcy friction factor and Nusselt number will be evaluated as functions of the Reynolds number. A coupled thermal-electric STAR-CCM+ model will be employed to post-process test data and obtain results in terms of local Nusselt Number and temperature and current density distribution.
