Abstract
Abstract Amid the enthusiasm surrounding the Artemis missions and the widespread pride in this new era of human space exploration, humanity is venturing into unprecedented frontiers. In this context, careful ground segment preparation and extensive crew training are of utmost importance, and high-fidelity simulations have never been more critical to ensure mission success. This thesis presents a novel approach to the use of Life Support Systems, focusing on cooling systems, in an analog environment, the LUNA Analog facility, and discusses the associated challenges, particularly those arising from the higher gravity compared to the Moon. A key challenge is the potential displacement of the cooling system pipes caused by the harness of the analog Spacesuit.
The weight of the water bladder also presents a practical issue, which could be mitigated in future tests with the Gravity Offloading System, potentially allowing the use of two bladders simultaneously
