Abstract
Knee osteoarthritis can affect everyday life through pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. These symptoms are not always constant, but can change over time and during daily activities. For this reason, a periodic clinical visit may give only a partial view of the patient’s condition. Wearable sensors connected to a mobile application can therefore support day-to-day monitoring of knee-related signals and, after proper validation, may also allow this monitoring to be extended outside the clinical setting. This thesis presents the design and development of a research-oriented mobile application for a sensorized knee sleeve system intended for knee osteoarthritis monitoring. The application was developed as a modular React Native prototype and was designed to communicate with wearable sensing devices through Bluetooth Low Energy.
The system supports device discovery, connection management, command transmission, real-time data streaming, packet decoding, signal visualization, local storage, data export, and basic post-processing
