Abstract
Fire exposure represents one of the most severe loading conditions for reinforced concrete structures, leading to severe physical and mechanical degradation. Among the most critical fire-induced phenomena is spalling, which may result in substantial material loss, reduction of the effective cross-section, and exposure of reinforcement, thereby compromising structural safety. Accurate quantification of spalling damage is therefore essential for reliable post-fire structural assessment. This thesis focuses on an experimental assessment of fire-induced spalling in concrete specimens supplied by HINFRA and produced with different material compositions. Three concrete types were examined, including ordinary reinforced concrete, fiber-reinforced concrete, and concrete with inclusion of polypropylene (PP) fibers, with a total of ten specimens tested.
The specimens were previously subjected to controlled furnace fire exposure, while the present study concentrates on post-fire analysis
