Abstract
Recording studio live rooms do not conform to standardized dimensional criteria and can exhibit a wide range of architectural and acoustic configurations. As these environments are purpose-built for sound recording and sound spatial capture through microphone techniques, their design is grounded in the established principles of architectural acoustics. Objective acoustic measurements are therefore essential to characterize their behavior, enabling the extraction of key parameters such as reverberation time (RT60), early decay time (EDT), clarity (C80/C50), and definition (D50). However, the optimized values of this parameters have not been fully determined for recording studios. The aim of this thesis is to use objective parameters obtained through in-field measurements of a recording studio namely the Music Lab live room at SERMIG (Turin) and to reconstruct the space through virtual acoustic modeling.
The study employs simulation tools including Odeon and the add-on Blender AuVi Suite 0.7, which integrates the Python library Pyroomacoustics
