As a representative of China's famous historical and cultural city, Guangzhou carries a profound Lingnan cultural heritage. As a witness of the city's cultural development process and a typical representative of Guangzhou's traditional mixed commercial and residential districts, the Guangfunan Historical and Cultural District carries rich historical and humanistic resources and unique Lingnan cultural characteristics, which are representative of the region, so the convertion and renewal of the Guangfunan Historical and Cultural District is also a matter of great concern. This study takes Guangfunan Historical and Cultural District as the research object, and explores its conservation and renewal strategies from the perspective of cultural genes.
