Abstract
This thesis is based on the evaluation of the functionality of Photovoltaic systems as a shader system for implementation on windows and balconies. Initially, the research aimed to develop a practical solution for residential buildings, enabling energy production at an accessible scale. But then as the design evolved it expanded into 6 different design prototypes in which some suitable for residential and some for commercial due to cost considerations and the complexity of the designs, In this hence during this project six shading design samples, ranging from simple static configurations to advanced sun-responsive geometrical systems was design and simulated each balancing energy efficiency, aesthetic integration, and occupant comfort.
The simplest designs, Which are static and modular systems, prioritize cost-effectiveness and ease of implementation which was a good solution for residential purposes but the lack of adaptability to changing solar conditions was a feature that was about to be noticed
