Application of state-of-the-art End2End testing techniques to financial web applications.
Rel. Riccardo Coppola. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Informatica (Computer Engineering), 2024
Abstract: |
This thesis aims to examine the application of state-of-the-art End-to-End (E2E) testing techniques to financial web applications, focusing on the technical details of testing methodologies and oracles used. These applications require particular attention to security, reliability and performance, making the adoption of sophisticated and accurate testing approaches crucial. The research will explore the specific challenges of E2E testing in financial contexts: state-of-the-art E2E testing methodologies will be examined in detail, including the behaviour-driven development (BDD) approach, the use of frameworks like SpecFlow and Playwright, and the integration of techniques such as fuzzing and automatic data generation. Special focus will be placed on analysing oracles, tools or methods used to determine the correctness of application behaviour during testing. Traditional End-to-End manual approaches will be examined alongside more modern techniques based on automation testing framework. |
