Abstract
External gear pumps are widely utilized in various applications due to their simplicity, robustness, and versatility. This thesis presents the development of a MATLAB application designed to optimize the dimensions of external gear pump gears under specific dimensional constraints, with a primary focus on achieving the required pump displacement. The application efficiently calculates essential gear parameters, such as module, number of teeth, and center distance. It also evaluates the flow ripple, a critical factor influencing pump behavior and noise levels. The optimization process incorporates user-defined constraints, ensuring that the resulting gear design meets the operational requirements, in case the input parameters cannot achieve a solution within the constraints, it offers the closest possible solution .
Additionally, the application includes can be used to automatically generate drawings of the optimized gears
