Abstract
In recent years, the degree of population ageing in China has been deepening. Population ageing in the countryside is an important part of our country's population ageing, and compared with the urban areas, the degree of population ageing in the countryside is deeper, faster, and the situation is more serious. Village public space is the main venue for the activities of the elderly in the village, and along with the economic, social and demographic changes in the countryside, there is an obvious lack of safe and suitable village public space for the activities of the elderly. At the same time, the construction of village public space lacks consideration for the elderly, as the main body of rural life of the elderly, their outdoor activity needs are often ignored.
Currently, scholars' age-friendly research focuses on urban settlements and streets, while there are fewer studies on elderly-oriented renewal in the countryside, especially in village public space, so the study is of practical significance for the age-friendly of public space
