Rel. Massimo Violante, Jacopo Sini, Luigi Pugliese. Politecnico di Torino, Master of science program in Mechatronic Engineering, 2023
Abstract
This thesis focuses on making an independent application for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, using Kotlin as the main programming language within the Android Studio environment. Initially, the project was conceived in Java, but following Google’s guidelines for Wear OS applications, it was converted to Kotlin. The main purpose of the application is to monitor an individual’s health parameters, especially heart rate (HR) and accelerometer data, and issue warnings in case of potential risks during a driving session. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 was chosen for its ability to connect to the Internet independently, allowing versatile data analysis and real-time monitoring.
The application continuously records HR and accelerometer data, providing a complete view of an individual’s physical activity and current state
