Abstract
Traction control is crucial for hybrid cars, where electronics, integrated into the car via SoC(system-on-chip), have the role of regulating signals between fuel cell, motor, and battery interfaces in order to manage, for example, vehicle acceleration and deceleration. Signals in vehicles must be remodeled using DC/AC inverters or DC/DC converters and, in particular, this thesis focuses on the handling of DC/DC switch movements needed to manage the direction (i.e. acceleration or deceleration) and amount of current and voltage in a hybrid vehicle, through the use of PWM signals. PWM signals manage the opening or closing of the switches, which are non-instantaneous mechanical movements, so, to avoid problems of short circuits, a dead time must be inserted in the signals.
The work done is about the development of different PWM generation, insertion of dead time and shifting techniques, through the use of the SoC Infineon Tricore with GTM, a generic timer platform from Bosch, indicated for the automotive field
