Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to investigate the transformation from traditional room-by-room offices to open-space offices, the integration of smart technology in the workplace, and the potential for energy savings through the replacement of wall materials, with a special emphasis on insulation. Because of its claimed benefits in encouraging collaboration, flexibility, and a more dynamic work environment, the transition from segregated office spaces to open design has gained significant traction in recent years. This change, however, poses crucial problems and challenges that must be addressed. The first section of the thesis delves into the shift from room-by-room offices to open-plan workplaces.
It investigates the causes behind this transition, such as the need for more employee contact, better communication, and higher innovation
