Abstract:

Since humans became sedentary, the food production is one of the most important human activity and from the beginning, fighting against animal and vegetable weeds was necessary. The climate change and the globalization have as consequence the exotic pests diffusion, like the Popillia Japonica Newmann or the Asian Debug, which spread in Europe from the Asia. ICT technologies represent an innovative solution for a sustainable struggle to solve the problem. In this research were exploited the remote sensing and the computer vision algorithms to detect the Popillia Japonica Newumann in vines.
