Research project granted by the National Agency of Research and Development (ANID in Spanish), titled: Modelo de Simulación del Clima Urbano Para Apoyar la Toma de Decisiones de Planificación Sensible al Clima en Chile. The aim of the project is to develop a software to assist decision makers, from the municipal level, on modelling the effects of urban planning on urban climate, thermal comfort and energy consumption, taking as a case study the Comune of Renca, located at the north east end of Santiago. Specifically the student will participate in the development of a tool that will help estimating auxiliary energy demands for residential space heating and cooling for the entire municipal area, based on local cadastral data, monitored temperature data, and further verification studies..
