Abstract:

Finite element methods and CUF based theories are employed to investigate the buckling performance of Variable Stiffness Laminates including uncertainty effects at a micro-scale level. Stress and strain fields are studied in both the micro and macro-scale level. At the end, an uncertainty quantification is conducted by means of Monte Carlo analysis and polynomial chaos expansions.
