Abstract:

Analysis of various aspects about floating photovoltaic systems with a comparison to ground mounted commercial systems. Feasibility study for the applications of FPV systems in south Florida, analyzing the energetic, economic and environmental points of view. Computational fluid dynamic analysis using Ansys Fluent, simulating a category 5 tropical hurricane's wind loads on the solar panels and on the floating system. Design optimization that guarantees hurricane winds resistance and best performance.
