Rel. Massimiliana Carello. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Automotive Engineering (Ingegneria Dell'Autoveicolo), 2019
Abstract
The aim of this thesis is contributing in the development of new functionalities in the field of ADAS controllers and Human Machine Interface (HMI). The development of each part of this thesis is focused on the subjectivity of the experience at a driving simulator. In the first part, a deep learning of what is a professional driving simulator is explained to understand how a human can interact inside the hardware in the loop cycle. Also, a short review of the former ADAS setup is shown. Then the core is dedicated to the design and test of a new controller called Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) with the aim of explaining its functionalities and possibilities of use.
Since interaction between the human (driver) and the machine (driving simulator or a real car) is fundamentals for the easiness of use of a system, a new set of HMIs is developed to be functional in the context of use
