Abstract
The thesis has been developed in the FCA Safety Centre in Orbassano (TO). In this document a new test of Euro NCAP is presented. The test is the Mobile Progressive Deformable Barrier one, in which a new progressive deformable barrier is utilized. The reason why a new barrier will be used is explained in the document. The reason why this test will be introduced in the rating of the new cars from the year 2020 is the compatibility between vehicles in case of impact. The topic of compatibility is treated in the document. Some projects have been developed during the years about the compatibility.
