Abstract: |
This thesis is the result of an activity made in ANKERS juss-amg S.r.l., a consulting engineering company operating in the automotive, aerospace and telecommunications field. Which provides its know-how to its clients, to help them in the realization of their projects through structural, CFD and multibody analyses. In this case the requested project was a complete analysis of an electric sport, street legal, vehicle named ‘Road Blade’. Only the external shape and the interiors were defined at the beginning, so different people worked on this project to design main components and perform different analyses. From CFD to structural analyses, to the design with CAD software of the chassis and all its components and finally multibody analyses for the suspensions, which are the core of this thesis, to define the handling of the vehicle. These studies are the basis for the realization of a fully functioning prototype of the Road Blade. Since the only initial constraints were the external shape and the interiors; the design of the chassis, the choice of kinematic points and dimension of all suspensions’ subsystems, to ensure the proper handling behavior to the vehicle, have been carried out in parallel to find out the optimal trade off. Atypical solutions for the suspensions have been used to distance themselves from the classical archetypes of suspensions, already well known, in order to realize innovative solutions, dealing with packaging problems and boundary conditions. |
