Abstract:

Fatigue behavior of Al-Si hypoeutectic alloys: effect of processing path (SLM or casting) and surface finishing. The main goal of this thesis is to investigate the differences in fatigue behavior between SLM and casting techniques. The different surface treatments were also studied to understand the mechanism of crack initiation. All the aluminum alloys were treated with a T6 heat treatment.
