Abstract:

In this thesis an aeroelastic two DOF system with control surfaces has been designed in order to investigate and to control the flutter phenomenon. The model has been manufactured and tested on the wind tunnel of the University of Liverpool and an analytical model for the flutter speed prediction has been developed and validated experimentally. A series of experimental tests are performed in order to understand the behaviour of structure and a PD controller for the pole’s placement has been developed by implementing the method of receptances. The controller has been applied numerically by using experimental data.
