The thesis explores the role of the UN in spatial governance at different spatial scales, with a particular focus on the sustainable development promoted by the 2030 Agenda. It then addresses the challenges of urbanisation in Africa, with a focus on spatial governance and the influence of global policies, particularly those of UN-Habitat. Lastly, the case study on Ethiopia delves into the country's territorial governance, assessing the impact of UN initiatives and future prospects.
