Abstract:

People spend approximately 90% of their time in indoor environments, so indoor environmental quality (IEQ [1]) has a direct and profound impact on people’s health and well-being. This current situation has attracted significant attention to IEQ data monitoring technology. However, traditional IEQ monitoring systems have many challenges, such as the inability to provide real-time data, resulting in the inability to quickly respond to environmental changes to maintain optimal indoor conditions; the system lacks flexibility and scalability, making it difficult to integrate new technologies; and data from different sources is difficult to interconnect, forming data islands, which affects the comprehensive analysis capabilities of data. This thesis proposes the design and development of a distributed IoT platform based on microservice [2] architecture, aiming to solve these problems. The platform extends and customizes the existing open-source IoT platform, supports multiple communication protocols, and provides APIs [3] to enable continuous integration of new features. The platform also includes service status monitoring and data processing capabilities for key performance indicators (KPIs). In addition, the platform provides a user-friendly interactive interface that enhances user experiences for managing resources and visualization. This study not only demonstrates the potential application value of distributed IoT platforms in IEQ monitoring, but also provides valuable insights into future indoor environmental monitoring.
